Ana Tanko, LPC is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor who has been working with children, adolescents, individuals and families from different backgrounds and varying degrees of mental health needs. Ana discovered her ability to have attentive and caring listening skills when at a young age her peers would come to her in times of need. Ana graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology where she was on the President’s list and received an award in Psychology. Ana advanced her education and she obtained her Master of Science in Counseling at the University of Bridgeport.
Ana is passionate about helping people to overcome life’s challenges by providing a safe environment, an attentive and caring attitude and establishing with the clients realistic and attainable personal goals. Ana’s relies on a variety of therapeutic tools to reduce symptoms and increase strengths. Some of these approaches are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and play therapy. She has served the American and Hispanic population providing Crisis Intervention and Stabilization Services, Domestic Violence counseling, Child and Family Therapy, Child Protective Services and Case Management. Ana’s goal as a therapist is to build a respectful and trusting relationship with her clients, to provide support and to facilitate change.
